How to request deletion
- Send an email from your account email address to [email protected] with the subject line Delete my Kiwi AI account and data.
- In the email body, include the email address used for your Kiwi AI account.
- If needed, we may ask for additional information to verify your identity before completing the request.
- We respond without undue delay and normally within 1 month of receiving your request. If the request is complex, we may extend by up to 2 additional months and will inform you within the first month.
What gets deleted
After verification, we permanently delete or irreversibly anonymize:
- Account profile data and authentication data not required by law
- Notes, uploads, generated study materials, and chat history
- User-linked analytics and marketing profile data
- Active sessions, tokens, and account access credentials
Data we may retain and why
In limited cases, GDPR allows retention where data is necessary for a legal obligation or legal claims. We keep only the minimum data needed for those purposes:
- Billing and invoice records (legal obligation, GDPR Art. 6(1)(c)): retained for 10 years.
- Minimal records needed to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims (legitimate interests, GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)): retained for up to 10 years or until the claim is resolved.
- Security and anti-fraud logs (legitimate interests, GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)): retained for up to 24 months, unless required longer for an active security incident or legal process.
Important notes
- Retained data is restricted and is not used for normal product features after deletion.
- Once deletion is completed, your Kiwi AI account cannot be restored.
- You may also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority (for Italy: Garante per la protezione dei dati personali).
